Terms of Service

Acceptance

These terms are an agreement between you and Intrahold Ventures LLC, which operates Mudawem™. By using the Mudawem app, your account, or our services, you agree to them. Purchases of Mudawem products are also governed by our Terms of Sale, and your personal data by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to hold a Mudawem account and use the app. To buy from us, you must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Mudawem is sold and supported in the United States.

What Mudawem is

Mudawem has a few parts that work together but are separate: the sign (the physical device you buy), the app (free, for iOS and Android), your account, our cloud service, and the firmware that runs on the sign.

The sign does not calculate prayer times on its own. Our cloud service computes them from the location and method you set in the app, decides the sign's status, and sends it to the sign. This means the sign depends on the app, your account, and our cloud service to work. If any of them is unavailable, the sign may not update until service is restored.

Accounts

You use an app account to set your location and method and to mark prayers, and you may keep a separate account for the store. Your app account can be anonymous or linked to an email so you can restore it. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, for activity under your account, and for providing accurate information.

Your license to the app and firmware

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Mudawem app and the firmware on a sign you own, for your own use. You may not copy, sell, rent, or redistribute them, reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with them, or use them to build a competing product. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.

Firmware and updates

Your sign runs firmware that we may update automatically over the internet to fix issues, improve it, or keep it working with our service. By using the sign you agree to receive these updates, and you understand that an update may be needed for the sign to keep functioning with the service.

The service and its availability

The service, including the app and the cloud that computes prayer times, is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, limit, or discontinue features, and there may be interruptions or downtime.

Prayer times are computed from the location and calculation method you choose, so their accuracy depends on your settings. Mudawem is a helpful aid, not a religious authority, and it does not replace your own knowledge or judgment about your prayers. You are responsible for observing your prayers, and you should not rely on the sign or app as your only source.

Acceptable use

Please use Mudawem lawfully and as intended. Do not try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or another person's account, interfere with or overload the service, reverse engineer or tamper with the sign or firmware, resell access to the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may limit or suspend access to protect the service or other users.

Buying a sign

Purchases of Mudawem products, including orders, prices, payment, taxes, shipping, and title, are governed by our Terms of Sale. Returns and cancellations are covered by our Shipping & Returns policy, and the sign by our Limited Warranty. Except for that limited warranty, the sign and services are provided without other warranties, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Intellectual property

The Mudawem name, logo, website, app, firmware, content, and product designs are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy or use them without our permission, except as needed to use Mudawem normally.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Mudawem without any obligation to you.

Disclaimers & liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mudawem and everything we provide are offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties beyond the limited warranty on the sign. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your sign. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You can stop using Mudawem at any time and delete your account from the app or the Account page. We may suspend or end your access to the app, account, or service if you break these terms or to protect the service. Your sign is yours to keep, but it may lose features that depend on your account or our cloud service if your access ends or the service is discontinued.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the effective date above will change, and we will highlight significant changes where reasonable. Continuing to use Mudawem after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
